Major League Baseball has been searching for months for evidence that Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Braun have been using performance-enhancing drugs. It seems as if they now have the proof that they have been looking for.
Tony Bosch, founder of Biogenesis Wellness Clinic has reached an agreement to cooperate with MLB’s investigation into Biogenesis. In the agreement, MLB has agreed to drop the lawsuit it has against Bosch in exchange for information that he has on about 20 players which served as his clients, including A-Rod and Braun.
The MLB can suspend players for PED use without a positive test as long as there is other documented evidence of use. ESPN is reporting that MLB is seeking 100-game suspensions against the players involved.
Among the 20 players listed are the following: Melky Cabrera, Bartolo Colon, Yasmani Grandal, Nelson Cruz, Francisco Cervelli, Jesus Montero, Jhonny Peralta, Cesar Puello, Fernando Martinez, Everth Cabrera, Faultino de los Santos, and Jordan Norberto.
Some of MLB biggest stars, including Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa, have had their careers tarnished because of PED use. Let’s hope that the drug cloud that has hovered over baseball for years will finally be removed.
