While on the set of an indie movie called Cowboys and Indians, ‘Top Model’, Lisa D’Amato suffered severe injuries to her face. In addition to posting pictures of the aftermath on Instagram, D’Amato also explained how she broke her nose in several places and lacerated her lips, forehead and chin.
The 32-year-old blonde, known to ‘Top Model’ fans for her high-energy antics, was horsing around with a friend, doing a handstand when she landed on her face. A fellow crew member landed on top of D’Amato, exacerbating the injury. The model was then rushed to the hospital and forced to have facial reconstruction surgery for her injuries. D’Amato told People Magazine,
“It was a total freak accident. I looked at my hands. They were covered with blood. That’s when I thought, ‘Oh, my God, what did I do to myself?”
Keeping a brave face and a positive attitude about the entire situation, D’Amato documented her healing process through posting photos on social media. “I apologize if those pictures scared some of you,” D’Amato wrote on Facebook. “I will be just fine and will jump right back into my career.”
Lisa D’Amato recently just married boyfriend Adam Friedman in September, and is preparing to leave for her honeymoon as soon as she’s all healed up!
