I love the news, it could quite possibly be the nerdiest thing about me. While everyone else has their noses in their phones using birds to combat the pig menace and tweeting pictures of their dinner, I’m probably reading the news. Currents is by far the most beautiful way to receive the news on a mobile device.

Currents, a Google app, is set up in such way to bring you news based on the categories you choose from the sources you choose. Once opened your greeted by the top headline or the breaking story in beautiful full screen format. You can choose from technology, sports, politics, or just grab a general source like the Huffington Post or Reuters.

Google definitely implemented it’s flavor into this app with smooth transitions and clean imagery. If you want the perfect app to catch up on the state of the world in a few short minutes, I would definitely give Currents a shot.
