Calvin Johnson is hard for anyone to compete with. The man is 6’5″ 236 lbs. and can catch a cold in a desert. Thus, the nickname “Megatron”. There’s not much this guy can’t do. Is there even a competition for number one receiver in the NFL? There’s one guy that’s could make it a race this year.
The Atlanta Falcons received some criticism for all that they gave up in the 2011 draft to get Julio Jones. Nobody is talking anymore. Now, all the criticism is on the Browns for giving up their pick. Jones has proven that he’s everything the Falcons thought he could be…and more. At 6’3″ 220 lbs., Julio is one of the most explosive and athletic receivers in the NFL. Last season, he had 79 catches for 1,198 yards and 10 touchdowns. Not too shabby for a guy that’s sharing a field with Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez.
For the past year, Jones has adopted a diet similar to veteran Steven Jackson. Jackson doesn’t touch beef or pork and, now, neither does Julio. “I feel much better,” Jones told FOXSports.com. ”Especially playing football, I feel that stuff sits on you.” If it’s even possible, Jones has gotten leaner than he was a year ago.
Now that the former Alabama wide receiver has a few years under his belt in the NFL, he doesn’t have to think anymore. Instead of second-guessing and overthinking, Jones can just react. Combine that with his physical ability and you’ve got one scary receiver. Jones might give Megatron a run for his money this year. Fantasy footballers…pick Julio.
