The triple-overtime series opener of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks was a thrilling one. Boston was looking like they were going to take game one up 3-1 halfway through the 3rd period. Dave Bolland and Johnny Oduya had something to say about that as they scored the second and third goals for the Hawks. It’s incredible how fast the momentum switched. It took three overtime periods to decide a winner. Andrew Shaw scored the game winner, assisted by Dave Bolland. Bolland was returning the favor as Shaw assisted his goal in the 3rd period.
This was the first game between these two teams since October 15, 2011, which Boston won. Game two will be played Saturday night at 8:00pm EST in Chicago.
