If you told me the St. Louis Cardinals were up two games to none on the Dodgers after facing Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw, I’d say you were crazy. But that’s exactly the case and that’s what winners do…they find a way to win. Fortunately for L.A., they get to take the series back home for three, but they’re hoping the hole isn’t too big.
The Dodgers will send Hyun-Jin Ryu to the mound for game three, which isn’t exactly comforting in this situation. Ryu got rocked by the Braves in the NLDS by giving up four runs and six hits in just three innings of work. They made a couple of defensive mistakes that cost them big in that game. Luckily, their offense showed up in a big way and were able to pick up a win. But with the way St. Louis is pitching, I don’t think they can rely on a ton of runs to pick up Ryu this time. The Dodgers will need a big performance from their rookie in order to avoid a 3-0 hole that not even Kershaw could dig them out of.
The Cardinals will call upon their ace Adam Wainwright to make his first appearance in the series. Another reason for the Dodgers to be concerned. If they’re going to score any runs, they’ll definitely earn them.
Game 3 starts tonight at 8:00pm on TBS.
