The team hasn’t missed a beat since the season’s beginning and now are on a 17 game winning streak. The only threat in the Eastern Conference has been the New York Knicks who have defeated the Heat twice. But other than this the NBA has proven to be a cakewalk so far. Is this good or bad? The question isn’t exactly if the Heat can win a championship again this year but more so ‘will they’?

Can King James lead his kingdom to victory once again? There are several components that go into being a championship basketball team; one of them being mental fortitude. Being able to endure the ups and downs of a 72 game NBA season. Another facet that contributes significantly to a championship attitude is never being satisfied. We all saw what happened to the Dallas Mavericks after the team took the trophie back in 2011, just to be expunged from NBA relevance the following year. This typically comes from satisfaction with the initial ring.

What happens when satisfaction sets in? Destruction. LeBron says it best here ” “Commitment is a big part of what I am and what I believe. How committed are you to winning? How committed are you to being a good friend? To being trustworthy? To being successful? How committed are you to being a good father, a good teammate, a good role model? There’s that moment every morning when you look in the mirror: Are you committed or are you not?”
