Tony Gonzalez is definitely in it with the Falcons for one more year. He had thoughts of retiring after last season but after coming so close to that Super Bowl, how could he not return for one more shot? The Falcons have been one of the teams to prove how valuable a great tight end can really be. Gonzalez has been so clutch for them. So what happens when the season is over and they don’t have that go-to guy?
Well…here’s an interesting thought. Jimmy Graham is in the final year of his contract with the Saints, meaning he will be a free agent when the season ends. The Saints are in so deep with money issues and trying to fit all their player salaries under the cap. They may not have enough money to offer Graham. Falcons’ GM Thomas Dimitroff is known for making bold moves and this certainly would qualify. Not only would that be a HUGE addition for Atlanta, but it’d be taking away a dangerous weapon from their division rivals.
Do you think it could happen?
