Thomas Dimitroff means business. After letting Michael Turner go, the Falcons GM went and got the best runningback in free agency, Steven Jackson. All of a sudden, Atlanta is looking that much more dangerous. Jackson adds something that Turner couldn’t…he’s a pass threat out in the flat and is an upgrade in 3rd down conversions. Although Jackson will be 30 this summer, he’s still got plenty left in the tank.
Jackson will be with the Falcons for the next three seasons, making $12 million. It should only count $4 million against this year’s salary cap. Which is another sign that Jackson isn’t looking to break the bank. He’s a team guy and is coming to Atlanta for a ring.
