Yesterday’s was a monumental day for the LBGT community. In a historic Supreme Court decision, parts of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which allowed states to refuse to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states where it is legal, was ruled unconstitutional. In addition, the SCOTUS allowed same-sex marriage to continue in California by allowing a lower court’s decision to refuse Proposition 8 to stand.
In celebration of the achievements of the LBGT community, Google, which has frequently supported gay rights, has hidden an “Easter Egg” within the search engine. When you type in a search term related to gays or gay rights (ie. “gay”, “gay rights”, “Stonewall”), you get a colorful surprise waiting for you on the search bar.
Try it out yourself!
