According to reports, Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson is quietly retiring from acting. RadarOnline.com is reporting that a well-placed source says, “Jack has – without fanfare – retired.”
Hopefully this isn’t true, as the actor’s career has spanned five decades. The website is reporting, “There is a simple reason behind his decision – it’s memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him.”
The three-time Academy Award winner has not worked since How Do You Know in 2010. Producers allegedly wanted Jack to star in Nebraska - an upcoming film where he’d be playing the ‘booze-addled father who makes the trip from Montana to Nebraska with his estranged son in order to claim a million dollar Mega Sweepstakes Marketing prize.’ Ultimately the role went to Bruce Dern after Nicholson allegedly told filmmakers he wasn’t interested.
Jack Nicholson will still be sitting court side at Lakers games and will still be making appearances on the party circuit, but he won’t be making films anymore. The website reports, “He’s not retiring from public life, at all. He just doesn’t want a tribute. He’s happy to tacitly join the retirees club like Sean Connery.”
