It seems like MTV’s 2013 Hottest MC list has ruffled quite a few feathers. With just 5 spots left, fans are questioning the positions of some of their favorite rappers. It looks like fans aren’t the only ones who are debating. Kanye West, who had previously said he would no longer talk to the press, contacted New York’s Hot 97 to voice his displeasure with MTV, his rank on the Hottest MC list and randomly, MTV host Sway Callaway who I’m pretty sure has nothing to do with the list at all.

“In order for them to put me at number 7 they had to bring up things they didn’t like,” Kanye said of his #7 placement. “They don’t like Givenchy Kanye, they don’t like Kanye in a Kilt, Kanye in a relationship.Cruel Summer got Don’t Like Remix, Cold, New God Flow, Mercy & Click you can’t name 5 records like that on no LP. Ain’t nobody bringing up that Diamond Remix verse, wasn’t no verse in a year, f*cking with that verse” He continued his rant by giving kudos to his fellow stars in the hip hop game, “More than anything I’m happy for Big Sean, but I think he should be top 5, the way he be bodying records. Number 7 bothers me, well I think Lil Wayne is the number 1 rapper int he world, Him, Jay & Em are the greatest rappers of all time.”

Somewhere in there Kanye felt it was necessary to mention that he bought MTV Host, Sway Calloway, his very first TV and that Sway should never forget that. I guess that was his way of saying that Sway should remember where he came from? I’m not sure, but Sway did respond via Twitter.
