MTV‘s so-called Jersey Shore replacement, Buckwild is renewed for a second season, it was just announced yesterday.  According to Deadline, the network has picked up the reality show and now its here to stay.  The show follows a group of self-professed rednecks living in a small West Virginia town doing crazy, stupid things to have fun.  Trashy clothes, silly accents, shooting guns, drinking beer and rolling in dirt is what makes this show likable.  The show is obviously a different element of life compared to Jersey Shore but the overall idea of having fun and being crazy is there, just in redneck (instead of Guido) fashion.

As far as ratings go, the show isn’t pulling in anywhere near the high, nearly double-digit numbers that Jersey Shore was at its peak, but it’s averaging about a solid 3 million per week.  The first season finale of Buckwild will air tomorrow on MTV.

It was also announced yesterday that the British boy-band, The Wanted is getting a reality show on E!.  With MTV struggling to keep ratings after Jersey Shore retiring and E! holding their own with all of their Kardashian spin-offs, it’ll be interesting to see how these newcomers hold their own in the ratings.

Ryan Seacrest, the brain behind the Kardashian series, has titled the show The Wanted Life.  It’ll follow the boy band as they move to Los Angeles from overseas to record their new album. It will also let us all know how difficult their lives are as young, rich superstars by showcasing “all the ups and downs that entails for them, their girlfriends, and their entourage.” Seacrest will executive produce, as will Justin Bieber and Psy‘s manager, Scooter Braun.

Some are also hoping to catch Lindsay Lohan, who’s a proclaimed ‘groupie’ of the band on the show.  She’s been rumored to be hooking up with Max George of the band and has followed them on tour.  Since Lindsay has dug a poor reputation for herself with her acting career, it wouldn’t be surprising if she made a few appearances on a reality show as a “girlfriend” since she can’t get work elsewhere.

There have been no official mentions of Lohan‘s name at all in connection with the show, we’re just speculating, but money is money and it isn’t far from being a possibility.  Which show will you be watching?

How do you think these two new reality shows will hold their own on tv?
