There are a lot of coaches in the NBA who deserve this title. Some coaches don’t get as much recognition like Erik Spoelstra because why shouldn’t he win with LeBron James and Dwayne Wade on your team. Gregg Popovich wins year in and year out with a talented Spurs team. Who are some of the coaches that deserve the honor this year?

Larry Drew (Atlanta Hawks)- after losing Joe Johnson to the Brooklyn Nets, and losing his replacement, Lou Williams, to injury…you wouldn’t really be able to tell by the success the Hawks have had this year. They’ve had a lot of distractions surrounding Josh Smith and his potentially getting traded. Drew has handled it well and the Hawks are very much in contention.

Tom Thibodeau (Chicago Bulls)- a season without their superstar, Derrick Rose, has been tough but they haven’t missed much of a beat. They’re tied for fourth in the conference with Brooklyn and look to make moves when Rose returns.

George Karl (Denver Nuggets)- the Nuggets have a young team, but a very athletic team. They’ve managed some success under Karl without a single superstar.
