Nick Cannon Will Play Drug Kingpin “Freeway” Rick Ross In Upcoming Biopic

Well, there’s a first time for everything! Nick Cannon has moved on since his cheesy movie roles and will now play drug kingpin “Freeway” Rick Ross in a new biopic.

Ross (not to be confused with the other Rick Ross the rapper) announced via his Facebook page that the movie is about, “”Cocaine, Contras and America. THIS IS THE STORY OF THE REAL SCARFACE.” His choice is in fact interesting considering the selection of actors he could have chose from. But in this video he explains why he chose Cannon. Check it out.

Ross says in the video above, “I’ve been wanting him to play my role since ’96. We got hooked up, I met him, I loved his personality,” regarding Nick Cannon playing the role. The reactions were mixed in response to Nick Cannon getting the role, with comments like, “He’s no Denzel Washington but we’ll take it,” one person commented. “What happened to Jamie Foxx? What bout Wood Harris,” said another. Then there was this person: “..nick…f**king……cannon? jesus, why?”

Other reports have stated that Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and Don Cheadle were all in talks to portray kingpin “Freeway” Rick Ross. But there you have the exclusive confirmation above that it will indeed be Mr. Mariah Carey (kidding, Nick Cannon).
