In a meeting of the last two Super Bowl Champions, the Washington Redskins host the San Francisco 49ers at RFK Stadium. The defending champion Redskins jumped out to a 21-0 lead, capped by a 70 yard Touchdown pass from Joe Thiemann to Charlie Brown. The 49ers would make a comeback with three scores in the fourth quarter, but the Redskins would win 24-21 on a Mark Mosley Field Goal with 40 seconds left
