Just a week ago, Paula Deen fired her agent of 10 years and now she’s fired her entire legal team from the firm Oliver Maner. These are the attorneys that have been defending Deen in her civil case against Lisa Jackson, the former manager of one of Paula’s restaurants who has filed a lawsuit against the celebrity chef, claiming racial and sexual discrimination.
Paula Deen has instead hired Grace Speights, a partner in Morgan Lewis’s Labor and Employment practice, to oversee that lawsuit. The famous chef has also hired Hollywood litigator Patricia Glaser, who has represented Conan O’Brien and Keith Olbermann, to head up her legal team.
Paula Deen has had a rough few weeks following her use of the N-word. The leaked deposition revealed that Deen has used racial slurs in the past and since then, several of Deen’s business partners including, but not limited to Walmart, The Food Network, and Sears have parted ways with the celebrity chef.
