In the name of the Father, what is going on here!?!? Pope Benedict XVI just announced that he is hanging up the vestments and turning in the keys to the Pope-mobile as soon as Black History Month is over. The pope’s decision, makes him the first pope to resign in about 600 years.

So what could it be? Why after only 8 years of being the only resident of the Vatican is Pope Benedict stepping down, more importantly, can we call him ‘Benny the Jet’? Well you guys can pick you’re jaws up off the floor, there was no secret confessional tape or little boy mishaps going on with the Pope to make him hang up the cross (bad joke…bad joke). This may come as a shock to you but the guy is old. At 85 years of age he released a letter stating that his advanced age and diminishing health are the reasons for his early retirement. He announced his resignation to his staff in Latin earlier Monday. That’s right, the Pope is so old he speaks a dead language.
