In New York City’s Best Buy Theater last night, Pusha T made a huge announcement. He announced his debut album as a solo artist will be titled My Name Is My Name, inspired by Marlo Stanfield of The Wire.
This is not the first time Pusha has referenced The Wire character in his music. “I earned my name just like Marlo,” he raps in the opening verse in the “I’ma Boss” freestyle. He even recently shared his favorite moments from the show with MTV.
My Name Is My Name should be released in early 2013 via Def Jam. Prior to its release, Pusha T plans to drop a free mixtape entitled Wrath of Caine.
