Rick Ross Records “100 Black Coffins” For ‘Django Unchained’ Soundtrack

The forthcoming Quentin Tarantino-directed film, Django Unchained is about a slave-turned-bounty hunter setting out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner. Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in the film playing character Calvin Candie, a vile plantation owner in the south before the Civil War. Set to star alongside DiCaprio is actor Jamie Foxx and Don Johnson.

For what Tarantino’s describing as a first in his career, he commissioned original songs from a handful of artists including Rick Ross. Rick Ross boasts that he looks like Big Daddy Kane over an eerie, whistle-enriched beat produced by the film’s star, Jamie Foxx called ”100 Black Coffins”. The soundtrack will contain additional cuts by John Legend and Anthony Hamilton, as well as an intriguing mash-up of James Brown’s “The Payback” and “Untouchable” by 2Pac.

The song boasts such lyrics from Ross as,

“I need 100 black coffins for a 100 bad men /100 black grates so I can lay they ass in /I need 100 black preachers with a black sermon to tell /from 100 black Bibles, while we send them all to hell..”

Django Unchained will hit a theater near you on Christmas day. The soundtrack will be available on December 18.
