Tranquility. Calm. Serenity. Peace. The latter of which is the literal meaning behind the name of this cool and comfortable  Santa Cruz, CA based streetwear brand.

The brand also known as Shalom Cultural Peace Project was founded by Jacob Alexander Seedman in 5760 (the Jewish calendar year of 1999), and is a message-driven lifestyle clothing company. Seedman’s vision is to create apparel that represents the message of peace, while incorporating his cultural and environmental philosophies. By the end of 2007, Shalom CPP was carried in stores worldwide and has since gained a diverse following. To this day, Shalom CPP continues to deliver cult classics, alongside fresh new styles.

Shalom Cultural Peace Project is deeply rooted in culture and fulfillment. Peace, Success, Tranquility, Comfort, Safety, Integrity, and Well Being are the 7 Elements and as such chooses to portray a positive lifestyle. At Shalom CPP, their commitment is to promoting change by using the highest quality products with thought provoking designs.

That dedication to peace is even shown in the designs that the clothing features. Using clean, uncluttered, and easily readable figures and script.

Including is the perpetual symbol of hope: the dove. The dove here, is used as symbol of peace. It also defines a person who advocates peace, conciliation, or negotiation in preference to confrontation or armed conflict.

Shalom’s unique style is derived from California’s skateboarding and surf sub-cultures, and influenced by graffiti art, hip-hop and reggae music, and peacemakers from all walks of life.
