The next ‘Star Wars’ film will be shot in Britain and not Hollywood. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy says ‘the company has reached a deal with British Treasury chief George Osborne to make “Star Wars: Episode VII” in the U.K.’
Kennedy explained, “the production company was “revisiting the origins of `Star Wars’” for the new movie,’ considering parts of all 6 previous films were shot in Britain. The news should be exciting for serious Star Wars fans!
The Walt Disney Co. bought ‘Star Wars’ from Lucasfilm last year for $4.05 billion and they later announced a new trilogy of films. Taking the franchise back to it’s roots is a good way to start off this new trilogy. J.J. Abrams is directing the first new film under The Walt Disney Co. and it’s due to be released in 2015.
