The Atlanta Falcons are most likely going to get rid of Michael Turner this offseason. His production was way down in 2012 and he just isn’t what he used to be. Who knows…if the Falcons had a reliable runningback, they may have been able to hold off the 49ers and run the clock out to send them to the Super Bowl. You can play “what if…” all day, but here’s a scenario that’s looking very promising…

Steven Jackson to the Falcons. Jackson is looking to void the final season in his contract with the St. Louis Rams. He’s nearing the end of his career, but still very relevant and productive. Jackson wants to go out with a bang…he wants a shot at a Super Bowl ring. The Falcons can provide that.

IF the Falcons can work it out to where they stay under the salary cap, definitely look for Jackson to be in Atlanta next season. Since he is nearing the end of his career, I don’t see him being there for more than one or two years. But he would certainly help the Falcons in the short run. If Falcons GM, Thomas Dimitroff, can get Tony Gonzalez to come back for one more season and draft a solid pass rusher, the Falcons are my favorite to win the Super Bowl.
