“Storage Wars” star Mark Balelo killed himself yesterday (Feb. 11) by carbon monoxide poisoning. Balelo was found dead in his car which was parked and running in the garage at his auction house in Simi Valley, CA, according to TMZ.
Mark Balelo was arrested two days before committing suicide on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, according to multiple reports. Sources stated that Balelo was very distraught after his arrest upon leaving jail and asked his fiance to come over because he was afraid he might hurt himself. TMZ reports that Balelo and his fiance met at his office on Sunday, they talked for a few hours, he took a 4 hour nap and when he woke up seemed better.
The fiance reportedly left Balelo at the office Sunday evening. According to reports, one of Balelo’s employees found his body Monday morning. The 40-year old, was in several episodes of the popular reality show ‘Storage Wars’. He was known for wearing flashy clothes and nicknamed “Rico Suave.” Balelo is best known for helping return a rare Superman comic book valued at $1 million to its owner, actor Nicolas Cage.
An autopsy is reportedly underway today for Mark Balelo, according to authorities. A&E has not yet released a statement on Balelo’s death.
