When you come to Atlanta, you notice quickly that a majority of business is handled in the strip clubs. Clubs like Onxy, Kamals 21, The Pink Pony and more serve as places for entertainment and places to handle business.
One business that has thrived for years in the strip club scene has been music. A&R’s and managers know that if they really want to make a presence in the Atlanta music scene, then breaking it in a strip club would be the first place to go. To get that access you have to go through Dj’s and the number one crew to do that through is the Coalition Dj’s.
Founded by longtime Atlanta promoter Nick Love, the crew is made entirely of Dj’s who spin at some of the best clubs in the city. While not large in numbers, the places they control make them a force to be reckoned with.
As the crew look towards their 5 year anniversary, the Wall Street Journal ran a piece this weekend on the team and their influence over music using the strip clubs through out the city.
