Swedish Guy Designs Ultra Creepy Surround-Sound Coffin (VIDEO)

Talk about creepy! A Swedish man has designed a coffin with built-in speakers linked to a music playlist that can be updated by the living. Fredrik Hjelmquist’s Rock & Roll coffin comes equipped with hi-fi speakers built into it. The music and video equipment store owner says his hi-fi coffin would entertain the dead and provide solace for grieving friends and relatives by making it possible for them to alter the deceased’s playlist online.

Fredrik believes people who believe in life after death might be interested in this coffin. He told told Reuters Television that ”In Sweden perhaps we don’t believe in it, but in many parts of the world people believe in a different way,” he said.

Fredrik has yet to sell one of his coffins but he says he wants to be buried in one, choosing opera as his selection of preferred music. His coffins hold a price tag of a hefty $30,700. ”We’ve had an unbelievable amount of inquiries, not so much in Sweden, but many from the United States and Canada, also from Taiwan,” he said.

Fredrik believes celebrities should purchase his coffins in particular, ”Ozzy Osbourne should buy one I think or Keith Richards. Somebody ought to do it because this is really rock n’ roll I think…but at the same time beautiful,” he said. It’s a pretty creepy concept if you think about it, but then again, anything goes these days. This may be the way of the 21st century – and to think we all thought it’d be flying cars, not surround-sound coffins!
