Tina Fey is returning back to her old stomping ground as the opening host for the 39th season of Saturday Night Live. The SNL veteran will help open the season on Sept. 28.
This will mark Tina Fey‘s fourth appearance since leaving the sketch comedy show. She wrapped 30 Rock last season and her hosting spot on SNL will be accompanied by musical guest Arcade Fire.
Other confirmed guests for the upcoming season of Saturday Night Live include Miley Cyrus on October 5th and we’re sure there will be some ‘twerktastic’ jokes in there, and Bruce Willis on October 12th with musical guest Katy Perry. SNL was hit hard last season, losing veteran comedians Bill Hader,Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis. Seth Meyers is also set to leave later this year as he’ll be taking over the Late Night franchise.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that though it hasn’t been confirmed yet, five new cast-members will be joining the show ‘including Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney of the sketch group Good Neighbor and Mike O’Brien, who has been a writer on the show for the past four seasons.’
Who would you like to see host SNL this season?
