Another professional athlete arrested for a DUI. There’s at LEAST one athlete per season in any sport. Todd Helton was arrested early Wednesday morning in a Denver suburb. The Rockies released statements saying how embarrassed and sorry Helton is, yada, yada, yada. It doesn’t seem like athletes learn from their mistakes. Why? Because they get the easy way out. Don’t get me wrong, some do learn. Once the media catches wind of any wrong-doing, it’s all over the place in an hour. Athletes don’t want their public image to be tarnished. That’s more of a punishment than anything. Helton will brush off this DUI and by the time April rolls around, no one will even remember.
