Performance Enhancing Drugs have completely changed the game of baseball. After the list of players involved in the Biogenesis scandal was released, it’s hard to really trust any of the players. But now, we have to believe that MLB has gotten it right and that players will be held accountable for cheating.
Los Angeles Angels young superstar Mike Trout weighed in on how he feels about PEDS and the players that have used them (via the LA Times):
“To me, personally, I think you should be out of the game if you get caught, it takes away from the guys that are working hard every day and doing it all-natural.”
“Some people just are trying to find that extra edge, it’s tough as a guy that goes out there and plays hard every day, puts in 110% effort. To wake up, see there’s a list of guys. … It’s good that MLB caught them, and they’re moving in the right direction with suspensions and stuff.”
It’s really encouraging to hear a young guy talk about PEDs in that way. Hopefully, the league is getting cleaned up once and for all.
