Volkswagen has recently revealed a special edition Scirocco GTS to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their first Scirocco. The car was featured at the Auto Mobil International show in Leipzig, Germany. With a 2.0-liter turbo engine it produces 210 horsepower and accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds for a top speed of 148mph. This hatchback has a distinctively retro racing style with racing stripes from hood to tailgate. There are a few nods to previous Volkswagon models with the rear diffuser and roof spoiler borrowed from the Scirocco R and the golf ball shift knob on the six-speed manual gearbox comes from the Volkswagen Golf GTI. There are some new aditions however in red accenting on the wing mirrors and brake calipers which carries into the interior through the red stitching on the black leather, flared side skirts, new front and rear bumpers, body-color side moldings, and flashy 5-spoked 18-inch “Thunder” alloy wheels with black trim.
