“Whose Line is it Anyway” Is Returning To The CW

The CW is adding a little comedy to their programming by reviving the 90′s classic show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Colin Mochrie, an original cast member of the show announced the news via his Twitter account yesterday by saying, “Oh, by the way, Whose Line is coming back. More details later.”

The CW later posted a press release confirming the news that said the show would air on the network this coming summer. Unfortunately though they will not be bringing Drew Carey back, who hosted the original series from 1988 to 1998. This revival will be hosted by Archer and The Talk‘s Aisha Taylor.

Thankfully they will be bringing back the original comedians like Colin Mochrie, Ryan Stiles, and Wayne Brady. They will all appear back on the show as well with “one special guest comedian.” Drew Carey is currently hosting the Price is Right so we’ll just assume he was ‘tied’ up and too busy for the gig. Though Carey’s rep has said they have heard nothing of the revival of the series which only means there’s no plans for him to return, yet.
